Product Specifications

Atlas Neutron Windows incorporate our bimetal CF flange and an aluminum window in a single flange body with no welding or connections. The windows enable neutron applications such as UHV systems used in cyclotrons, nuclear reactors and radioisotope production for medical imaging. The residual, neutron-induced radiation in aluminum has a half-life that is orders of magnitude shorter than that of stainless steel. 

Standard windows are machined to a desired thickness from 6061 T6 aluminum. Dual neutron windows offer an internal cavity that can be differentially pumped or filled with a gas and analyzed through an array of optical ports mounted around the rim of the flange. All flanges are vacuum tested to a leak rate of 1×10-9 cc/sec of He prior to shipping.
